Lauren and Sarah took care of our two pups while we were out of town last weekend. We don’t worry about a thing when they are in boarding at Country K9. Plus they get a refresher on their previous training. The drop off and pick up is seamless and Lauren remembers all of their quirks and needs while they are boarded. We appreciate Country K9 for their expertise and love for our dogs. Highly recommend for any training and boarding needs.

Sent my Aussie Flash to Country Life K9 based on a friend's recommendation. My dog would would pull and walk all over the place, sniffed and poop anywhere he wanted to, he would even do it in the middle of the roadway. After sending him to Lauren, he came back a well behaved dog. The investment into training my dog was definitely worth it. Both Lauren and Sarah did a great job with Flash. and always updated us regularly via Facebook and Instagram of their training progress. The biggest challenge is making sure that what he learned at camp can be retained at home. We took our 6 month old golden-doodles to Country Life k-9 training for a 3 week training session. Our little girls were not socialized, scared, and not listening at all. I have to say we had the best experience with Country Life K9 Training! Our puppy Angus had some medical issues and still has dietary restrictions so we struggled to train him once all that started. Especially once the bunny season started - his instincts took off and I ended up being “walked and pulled” by my dog instead of the other way around.
They took him in and took into consideration his specific needs and issues! He’s been home for a week now and I have to say we came face to face with 3 bunnies and he ignored them 😳!!! That’s huge!!!! Plus he walks so much better on the leash and behaves so much better in the house!

Lauren & Sarah of Country Life K9 are the best there is! When we dropped our rambunctious, mouthy, ill-behaved, wild child of a golden retriever in the care of Sarah & Lauren for the 3 week board and train she was pulling on the leash, jumping on guests and furniture, mounting and ripping holes in our clothes, and frankly we could not allow her interact with our 2 year old toddler. We needed a serious change and lots of help to have the family dynamic we longed for. One where we could take Maggie out to restaurants, on hikes, on family vacations, where she and our daughter would be best buddies! And that’s exactly what Sarah and Lauren delivered! Maggie came home a new dog! She’s still the goofy, happy, sweet girl she always was but now with manners! We can’t say enough good things about Country Life K9 Training! Sarah and Lauren did such an amazing job training our dogs, caring for them, and keeping close and consistent contact with us throughout their program. We brought our reactive 3.5 yr old Pittie mix, Winston, to them in May for the 4-week behavior mod program, and our 7 month old Shepherd mix, Reese, in June for the 3-week basic obedience program, and WOW! We can't recommend Country Life K9 Training enough! We put both of our Golden Retrievers in the Basic Obedience Board & Train Program, and it was amazing to see the transformation in both dogs.

Lauren discussed the pros and cons of training both dogs separately vs. at the same time, and we ended up doing their trainings separately back-to-back and we are very glad we did. This allowed us time alone with our younger dog who was more timid going into training and gained a whole new sense of confidence, and also learned how to fully trust us.

Our older (and larger) dog had more bad habits going into the training because he had longer to develop bad habits. He was a classic example of *somewhat* knowing what to do, but thinking everything was optional, so it was very impressive to see how he responded to the added layer of accountability the training provided through the e-collar.

We are so proud of them both and excited to be able to include them in more adventures that we know we wouldn’t have been able to before training. Lauren and Sarah are the absolute best, and we wish we would have done this sooner!

We sent Deacon, our one year old English Bulldog, to the board and train program. He was sweet but very stubborn, didn't walk well on the leash and had very selective hearing. He is listening SO much better and is walking well without dragging us around. I was so worried about leaving him for three weeks but they post videos daily so you can see what they're working on and how much fun they're having. The videos are also super helpful to look back on at home to make sure you're keeping up with the training. I researched which training program I wanted to send Deacon to for so long and decided on Country Life K9 Training because I loved the videos and loved how they spoke to the dogs they were training. Sloane has always had good temperament, shes sweet and spunky. Among those things shes also agile, fast and can be a little stubborn. I am so happy I sent her to Lauren & Sarah. We have such a better life together. Ive been taking her out to dinner, on walks by the water where she can run free at the point, on hikes and even just chilling outside in the front yard. I can leave my front door open, trust her to come when i call her and have her in the down position when to much is going on around us in public. Look no further, you have found your dog trainer! You will not regret working with Lauren and Sarah. Our 4-year old small munsterlander, Meeka, just completed the 4-week behavior modification course to address her high anxiety and leash reactivity.

Meeka is a hunting dog with a high prey drive. She thrives with off-leash commands when bird hunting with my husband, but leash walking has always been a struggle. During walks she would stalk small animals and was extremely leash reactive towards other dogs, bicycles, scooters, and even golf carts.

It was difficult to find a trainer that understood our needs from both the hunting and everyday dog training perspective…until we met with Lauren and Sarah. They understood the balance we were looking for. Sarah had experienced similar challenges to what we were facing with her own hunting dog, a wiredhaired pointer. It helped immensely to have a trainer who understood the needs of a hunting dog.

Highlights of working with Country Life K9 Training:
-Detailed pre-training prep. We felt prepared and at ease with dropping Meeka off at Lauren’s home on the first day.

-Videos and photos of training throughout the week. We loved seeing Meeka and the other pups progress!

- Lauren is one of the best communicators and teachers I’ve ever met. She is clearly a professional, skilled trainer due to years of experience working with animals, but also knows how to break down each command in a way that’s easy to understand for owners.

The results have been nothing short of transformational for our family. Meeka’s anxiety level has dropped dramatically. She still has her prey drive and has not lost her hunting training, but everyday walks are much more enjoyable for all of us! This training was so worth the investment. Lauren trained our English bulldog puppy, Dumplin. Before her training Dumplin absolutely REFUSED to walk on a leash and was always begging for food when we ate. I’m able to take her places on her leash now without her doing her alligator roll. She stays in her place when the little ones are eating and she no longer begs and go to her place. This review is long overdue!

Our two year old fully intact golden retriever Ziggy had some issues we really wanted to get resolved and didn't really know what to do. He is like our son and we didn't really want to send him away to some training facility that didn't give you updates and just basically waited for three weeks to hear about our dog/son. We would have dealt with the issues before sending him somewhere like that.

I have known Lauren for quite some time (I think 15 years now) and she has always been great with any kind of animal. I mostly knew her around horses and I figured if she can handle those huge animals, Ziggy would be a breeze for her. Having known her made it easy for me to send him away to her, but for my girlfriend that was a different story. She was uncertain about it AT FIRST. Once we got to Lauren's house with the pup and talked about the program, the girlfriend knew the pup was in great hands. It took away most of the worry for both of us. The only other worry was that we would want to know if he was doing good in the training. From the first day that Lauren got him she was posting videos and pictures of him and his progress. It was obvious within the first video that Ziggy was now under control and he showed Lauren a lot of respect. WITHIN A DAY! We were thrilled. And for the next two weeks we would constantly get video and picture updates. Man, that was the best part, watching our kid showing off his skills and being awesome.

Ziggy was one of her last two week sessions and she is now doing three week sessions, which would have been great for Ziggy but I couldn't wait to see him after the two weeks.

Basic rundown of the main issues we brought Ziggy to training for-

He was awful at walking on a leash, didn't know how to heel, and was always pulling us and when using a neck collar he would choke himself.

If we would take him somewhere in the car and he thought we were going somewhere such as the dog park, he would bark as loud as he could until we got there. HE IS LOUD!!!! The sound would make my ears ring.

His recall skills were bad, we have a lot of land for him to run around on but if he got too far away he wouldn't come back.

We bring Ziggy to work with us and he would often jump up on people, not a good look for us at work.

SO now after the training this is what we have got-

Walking on leash- went from a strong pull to him walking in heel right behind our back left leg- even when we don't put him in heel. Wow what a difference. He will still try to pull sometimes but is quickly reminded that he is not supposed to do that. When going to any place that we are going to walk- he is a complete different dog, doesn't get side tracked from other animals or people and when we let him "Break" you can really tell it makes him so happy to be with us.

Car rides, turned a loud bark into a tiny whimper, still annoying but if we spend more time with him before the car ride and get him into the calm state of mind that Lauren taught us about, he usually will stay silent and calm in the back seat.

Recall- most times we don't need the controller anymore, as long as he is within view he will come back to us after calling him once. He enjoys his wide open roaming but he understands when we tell him to come, he comes. This is fantastic. Not even seeing a squirrel will stop him from coming back to us now.

Jumping on people- now he will sit down and let people come up to him. Amazing difference.

So to conclude- Ziggy's personality has not changed. He is still the fun loving golden that we sent him to training like. Now he is in control and he loves it. He is now up for the challenges and he gets rewarded when he is doing good. We have to use the stem button very seldom now and he is a very well behaved fully intact two year old golden retriever.

We fully intend on bringing the next family member to Country Life K9 Training when they arrive one day.

Lauren is the best. Prior to her training, my labs were dangerous to walk. Pulled me down. Totally distracted. I was avoiding other dogs on the few walks I did take them on. CountryLife K9 did a fantastic job reintroducing Newt, our crazy TWC, to the standards of his original training. Lauren also helped us address couch and food aggression and people guarding behavior he had developed. Our dog, Arya, was born during COVID so we didn’t have much opportunity to expose her to the public over the pandemic. She was very anxious around people she didn’t know. She would pull during her walks and only follow the few commands we knew. This is our first dog so we are learning as we go. The team at Country Life K9 training were the perfect teachers. After her boarding Arya came home obedient and calm. She learned to walk directly beside us when commanded. No more pulling. My five year old can even walk the dog with no worries. She understands when she is given commands to come, sit, lay down, go to a place, or take a break. She automatically sleeps in her cage at night, every night. We don’t even have to make her go, she just goes to sleep there when she gets tired.

The trainers offered a follow up session to come back and gain a refresher which was helpful. They will board her when we go on vacations which is great because my dog loves them. We tell her “let’s go to Lauren’s house” and her ears perk up. She knows exactly what we mean.

Lauren did a phenomenal job with my Doberman Barrett. Since returning home I have felt confident passing by other dogs because Calvin remains focused in his commands and is no longer lunging at them.Lauren sent me photos, update and videos of Calvin daily to keep me informed about his progress. She provided me with information and tools to continue with Calvin’s training. I am extremely happy with the whole experience with Country Life K9 Training from start to finish.

Highly recommend! Our family had a top notch experience with Lauren at Country Life K9 Training. A little background... We rescued an 8 month cane corso in December of 2019. We consider ourselves “dog people” and have had quite a few large breed dogs previously. However, our new cane corso presented a difficult challenge. As much as we love her, we could not get her to listen or stop destroying anything she could get her paws on (and that’s the short version of the story). When Lauren came recommended to us, we were at our wits end; the absolute end of our rope. In April 2020, our dog completed Lauren’s 2 week Board and Train Program. Once she returned home, I waited a bit before leaving any review, because I wanted time to observe the results. I’m happy to report that life with our cane corso has been completely transformed — almost a 180° turn around! Of course, things aren’t perfect, but we finally feel we have the tools to successfully manage life with our 140+ lb baby. In our opinion, working with Lauren at Country Life K9 Training has been an invaluable experience! And on top of the satisfactory results I have to mention — Lauren was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was nothing less than friendly & professional, and provided us with consistent communication the entire time she had our dog. Lauren trained our almost one year old lab/pit mix during a two week board and train and I cannot sing her praises enough! Mamba was pretty awful on walks and easily distracted and she 100% dialed in his focus. He’s a JOY on walks now. Lauren’s videos/communications while Mamba was training was top notch and the whole experience was beyond our expectations. Would definitely, 100% recommend!!!

We dropped our puppy off for the two week board and train and couldn’t be happier with the results. We now have a 7 month old puppy that is super reliable, even when off leash. We are all enjoying him so much more. He had a bad habit of running out the front door, pulling on the leash, and jumping on people when they come over and all of these issues have completely resolved. She even sent us home with so many pages of notes in case we encounter hurdles along the way when we follow through with training. The biggest reason that we chose Country Life K9 is because our puppy needed some extra TLC because he is super sensitive and we needed someone kind and patient who would make training enjoyable for him but not scary. This was a perfect fit for our family!

Lauren worked with our little guy Sebastian Saint-Clair and I can honestly say changed our lives for the better! Sebastian had almost ever issue in the book due to pack of solid, consistent training. After 3 weeks with Lauren, we have seen a complete 180! He is still in his adjustment phase of being back home, but he has only had one potty accident, no longer barks and whines incessantly, and is great at staying on place and calmly spending time with the family. Our dog, Duncan, just finished up Lauren's two week board and train program and we are so pleased with the results! Lauren kept us updated with videos and pictures daily throughout the whole process. The videos were great because not only were we able to see his progress and how Lauren was training him, but I've since gone back to watch the videos since he has been home to make sure that I'm using the commands and collar correctly. When I did reach out to Lauren with questions after Duncan came home she was even kind enough to come by our house and walk me through some commands until I felt comfortable. Now that he is listening and following commands he gets to go for family walks and gets plenty of off leash ball time. Both of which make a happy family and a happy/tired Duncan. We highly recommend Lauren!

When we adopted Archie we were warned that he was very energetic and struggled knowing when other dogs didn't want to play (obnoxious....not aggresive).  He was initially kicked out of various Doggie- Daycares because he didn't respond when called off and seemed to careless when being addressed. After a two week board and train we had a new dog!! He has since been allowed back to doggie daycare and is responsive to commands  both with and without his e- collar.  We can't thank Lauren and Country Life K9 Training enough for everything!!

Lauren worked with our 8-month old Vizsla, Hank, during a puppy session then a two-week board and train. Lauren did a great job with Hank, and just as good of a job training us - she sent us daily videos explaining what she was doing, sent us detailed instructions for bringing him home, and gave us a long training session at pick-up. Sending our two pups, Oliver (4 y/o) and Cooper (1 y/o) to training with Lauren was one of the best decisions our family has made! While we love our two Golden Retrievers, they were truly out-of-control before attending Lauren’s program. They ran the household. Oliver, our 4 year old, was constantly barking at guests, and was unable to walk on a leash. Cooper, our puppy, was very wild, destructive, and (also) could not walk on his leash. They weren’t getting the exercise they desperately needed to get out their energy, and we wanted to be able to have guests over without worry. Like any family, we love our dogs and were very hesitant to be away from them, and struggled with the decision. From the beginning, Lauren was open about her entire training process, methods, and use of the E-Collars. All of our worries were put to rest as we were able to view their progress each day through the daily updates of photos and videos. Cooper and Ollie were finally able to walk on a leash, listen to commands, and seemed genuinely happy. We saw the care and attention Lauren put into training our dogs, especially as she talked us through their different personalities and “quirks.” She took the time to make sure we fully understood the use of the E-collar, best walking practices, and commands through holding “demo” sessions with our entire family. We love that they were kept in such great hands during their training, and most importantly that they seem so much happier after training. We are able to walk our dogs and give them the care that they deserve, as Lauren gave our dogs the training they needed to be successful, and us the tools that we needed to continue this success. Lauren has been amazing with my Hank since day one. She was referred by a high school friend and now I send her services to everyone I know. Hank (an 11 month old Jack Russell/Pug mix) has done three sessions with her and he’s come back more and more amazing each time.
